Timothy Leistner has always been inspired by the arts. While in the elementary school, his teachers noted his artistic talent. His parents enrolled him in private art lessons. From then on he continually pursued the arts, creating as his art career expanded. Today he is a recognized painter, photographer, author, curator and educator who exhibits his artwork throughout the United States and abroad. He is the recipient of numerous honors and art awards and was selected as the “2008 Artist of the Year for Community Impact” at the Encore Awards and won the “Individual Leadership Award for the Arts” in 2009. The dedication the “Timothy Leistner Art Work Space” artist room was dedicated in his honor in August, 2008 at ArtServe Galleries in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Timothy Leistner utilizes multiple media including watercolors, acrylics, oil, sculpture, and photography. His art works are diverse and are highly collected and part of numerous private, public, and corporate collections. He has been commissioned to create innovative works of art including a full wall mural for the City of Fort Lauderdale; art for a fighter jet helmet for the McDonald’s Air & Sea Show; and was selected as the Official T-shirt & Poster Design Artist for the 2007 Art in the Park Art Festival in Plantation, Florida. In addition, he illustrates and creates artworks for book covers. Leistner is listed in Who’s Who in American Education and was appointed a State of Florida Residency Artist.
